I took my new CX4 to the range yesterday, and I was not able to really get comfortable with the stock sights. The indoor range was a bit dim, and it seemed that I was not getting enough light through the peep sight.

I cant afford a $400 EOtech or Trijicon Tripower, can anyone recommend a more affordable sight system?

I found this sight package: http://www.houtsenterprises.com/cx4-sights-trj.html

I'm not thrilled with the aesthetics of it, but if it works well, I could probably afford it.

What are you looking to do with your new sight system?

HD?

Plinking?

Target shooting?

At what range are you going to be engaging your targets?

Do you need to cowitness with your iron sights?

Reliability of your new sight system - does it need to be 100% shockproof, or is it not life / death situation - you just want a cheap one?

Good questions..

1: My 'primary' HD weapon is a Remington 870. The CX4 is more for fun.
2: Range: No more than 50 yards. I have a local indoor range and I think its maximum distance is 50 yards. Either way, close in targets.
3: I'm not exactly sure what cowitnes means. I'm pretty new to this!
4: Durability is not that huge of an issue, my CX4 lives in its case until I get to the range. I may at some point take a practical shooting course with it, and I may need some durability for that, but I cant quite justify spending 400-500 on a sight right now.
