As I grew up watching westerns, I have always wanted to get a 12ga SxS coach gun. I figured, its about time I get one. :D Right now, I'm just trying to get a list going of all the 12ga coach guns I can think of. So can you help me out? Any comments one the ones so far?

So far, I have the following.
- Stoeger's various models
-TTN 1878 Colt Coach gun (I heard these are getting popular in SASS)
-Remington SPR220 Cowboy Action

Not to change the subject, but is there any reason the Old West shotguns were SxS and not UO? Did they just not make any UO's yet, or was there some advantage to the side-by-sides?

Revolver Lover -

If you want an ear-full on this subject, drop in on the SASS (Single Action Shooting Society) site.

in the last couple years, i have not followed the gun marketplace as closely as when i was a kid. basically you have two choices: hammered, and non-. I would go with hammerless. every time i visit a gun shop i fondle the stoeger coach models. in cass from what i see on the outdoor channel, 97 winchesters have taken over among the elite, with the lever action 86(?) replicas gaining ground.
i say go with stoeger. very economical, and a classy firearm.
