I was given a 270 Mauser with Peep. Has no scope base. Brother gave me Weaver scope and base off BAR he bought. My other 3 Mausers have one piece Leupold bases. Will Weaver work ok? Should I buy Leupold?? Thanks [email protected]

With scope bases, it's not the brand, it is the model. Every rifle has its own base (or set of bases) made for that rifle or ones made like it. If the wrong base is used, the scope cannot be sighted in. The rings, of course, are common to many rifles and many scopes, so if the rifle can use those rings, they would be fine.

Dear Sir:
On military Mausers I use the Redfield one piece - you don't need to modify the clip bridge!

Harry and Jim THANK YOU! Leupold and the Redfield I have on my 338 mauser look identical. They only require one hole drill and tap over chamber. [email protected]
