Hi - I'm trying to find out if $200 is a good price for a used 870 remington. The gun was purchased new in 1990. The finish is worn in areas but over all it's in good shape. It's been used for turkey season during the last 5 years. The gentleman offering it to me is the only owner.

I believe this model does not come with the slug barrel and will shoot 2 & 3/4 or 3".

What do you think?

That's what I was afraid of. I haven't committed to buying it, wanted to do some research and see what other people were giving for them.

Thanks for the info.

What is it? Wingmaster? Express? Police?

I paid 200 for an excellant used Wingmaster but I wouldn't pay 200 for a used Express. Possibly if it was mint. Go 150 if its an Express.

I'd start negotiating in the 125-150 area if it's an express...if it is dont even talk to them about 200

I got my 870 Express Synthetic Super Magnum for $310 NIB. After the mail in rebate it worked out to $260. You may want to look around.

If it's an Express, it's too high.

Hi guys - thanks for all of your replies. It is just plain 870 and for the going rate, it does seem high. I'll keep looking around.

Thanks again.

You're missing the point, every 870 has a "style"...Regular Wingmaster and Express are your two most likely choices. No plain old 870 to my knowledge. But either way, steep.

What's the difference between the 870 Express and the Super Magnum? Mine just says "Magnum" on the barrel.

Mine shoots 3 1/2 inch shells and says super magnum.

Mag shoots 3's and super mag shoots 3.5's

I've got a 70's or 80's Expess that I bought gently used for 180 bucks. What is it about the Wingmaster that makes them better?
