Has anyone here tricked out a Benelli Nova for home defense? If so, what all did you do to it? And show us some pictures.

I won one at a DU event a couple of weeks ago and was thinking about doing some stuff to it.

I put a cylinder choke in it.

The Benelli Nova has a crome-lined bore unless Benelli changed it. The Nova will serve you well as will the 870 Express;)

It will take several years before that can be decided.;)

Most reliable shot gun of all times? I recommend the Remington 870. If your motor fails on the way in to duck hunting, pull out your 870 and paddle in to your hole. Shake the water out and get ready to hunt.

I'm not saying I don't believe you but Tom Knapp shot half a million rounds through his m2. What is the most ever shot through a 870?

I agree the 870 is an awesome gun though.

Nice guns slinger.

I love my 870's, but the Nova is an excellent gun. At a recent tactical shotgun course I did I had a chance to try out a Nova as a tactical gun and was highly imprssed. In fact, I would say they are as good as an 870, which is saying a lot. Time will tell though.

I'm thinking about getting a Nova Tactical myself , but can,t find one with a mag extension. Did you get yours like that or did you add it on later? If so where did you get it?

Added the extension later. Bought it locally at a gun store for around $50.00.

There is currently something going on with the importation of these apparently and supposedly the BATFE has gotten their panties in a bunch for some reason. Because of this or panic they won't ever be available again, people are selling these extensions for big bucks.

Once again I really don't know details.

cslinger what are the green and silver shotguns? Are those 870's?

For those intending to make their Nova into a "tactical" shotgun, be advised that over-tightening the bolts when installing a Side-Saddle" shell carrier can cause the receiver to "distort" and the gun to malfunction. I had to back off a couple of turns to insure total reliability.

Both are 870s. The green one is a Tactical Magnum and the silver is a Marine Magnum.

Since my last post I found a bunch of Benelli Nova mag extensions on Ebay. Sure are pricy thought. "Buy it now" price $100+!

The Nova is a great gun, easy to maintain (clean), minimal # of parts, and has proven reliable. I have two seasons of trap league through one, and I have another version with the ghost rings as an HD shotgun.

I love my 870, but the Nova shoots better for me at trap. The LOP, and other measurements fit me just right. Luckily - as the stock is not interchangeable.
