How difficult is it to fit a Hi Power barrel? I have put about a dozen fitted barrels into 1911s and have been very happy with the results. Except for lower lugs and linkage, is the process similar for Hi Powers?

Andabeer, the procedure is pretty similar. Since you've installed 1911 barrels you shouldn't have any problem. George

I recently put an aftermarket barrel from Brownell's (Olympic Arms, I think) into an Inglis BHP; it was a nice snug drop-in that worked fine from the first shot. It wore into the lug and slide just a bit and I am very happy with it. Feeding with both factory and handloaded JHPs was also fine. I was concerned because pre-1950 Browning HP type guns had a slightly different dimensioned cross lug--but all went well.
Brownell's price was reasonable, too.
