I am think about getting one of these, does anyone have one? They look really great but I am not sure if they are worth the price.

You might want to look here: http://www.vltor.com/socom.html

Looks pretty interesting if you're not geographically challenged.

I would rather spend the money on ammo and build proficiency with my plain old walnut-stocked M1A.

If anything I will spring for an ACOG eventually--although I hate to add to the weight.

In Fugly.

Wouldn't it be better to become proficient with a standard-stocked M14/M1A before adding the lasers, phasers, and wind-speed indicators?

Save the money. Buy (or make) ammo. Use up. Repeat.

Speaking of which, where can I get a picatinny rail scope mount for my 1874 Sharps Business Rifle? :p
