Is it doable without screwing up the pistol?

Yes, absolutely, and very easy to do. Remove right grip and with a punch remove the magazine safety. Keep it in case You sell the gun. Greetings, THUD.-

Sorry...but based on your description we are NOT talking about the same device
On the Super A the disconnect is a little spring loaded gizmo that looks much like the mag release

Well that won't work...I can certainly take it out
I am trying to figure out any downsides to leaving it out
Seriously...appreciate the offer...but I looking for a little more detail

it's easy to defeat the safty under the takedown lever on the right side the thing that blocks the lever with the mag in {the mag safty}, it comes out just like the mag release under the slide release there's a little hole where you can push the saftey while you turn the screw to lock down the spring then the thing slides out of the pistol. to take the slide release off turn the take down lever stright down, wiggle it while pulling and it will slide out of the pistol then the slide release will just kinda fall off
before you take the pistol apart. with the slide off and the mag out look down into the mag opening at the very top of the trigger and the mag safty, it justs blocks the top of the trigger on the right from moving up, you just have to file the corner. push the mag safty over then pull the trigger you'll see where it needs filing
It's easer than trying to make since of my writing. the part was shoft and filed easy

Thanks...I will spend some time messing with it
I was concerned with leaving it out entirely, but a little filing sounds like a good compromise
