would it be possible to shorten a yankee hill 2 piece forend from rifle length to carbine length? i had the rifle one i got for my m16a2, which i no longer have, having recieved my honorable discharge recently. i have a lmt m4 style upper, and it would be nice if i could just modify it to work. thanks for any help

It wouldn't work very well. Dig deep and buy a new one.

Agree wholeheartely with The British Soldier. Waste of time and effort to cut and reconfigure the longer guard. And it will probably NOT look like what you expected when finished, unless you have a bandsaw, mill, exact same paint, etc.
