i feel that we need more information. a picture would help a lot. i think that is the right patent date for a winchester single shot - they were never called high wall and low wall by winchester - but do not have my book here to look it up. the only .32 short i know of is .32 rimfire for which ammunition is not common. we could look up the serial number and tell year made.

Are you sure it is not the Browning you speak of?

piddler, it sounds like you're describing a Winchester Model 1885. I agree with Jim, a picture would be a great help.

gentelman; i do not have the equipment or skill to post a picture. jim said that the serial no. would help in providing me info., well it is "18626". it is a winchester as so marked just in front of the rear sight. thanks for all your help so far. piddler!!!
