I have a Marlin Mod. 60 .22 cal auto loader that I have had since I was a kid. The barrel needs re blued as does the mag tube. The problem is It has a pin holding the barrel to the reciever. I can't get the blue to the small space near the reciever. How can I get this pin out and remove the barrel without damage to the gun?

remove the rifle from the stock and the pin should drive out left to right and go back in right to left. I don't remember having any threads on it, it is just driven in.

Dear Shooter:
DO NOT remove the barrel on the Marlin - you'll ruin the rifle. You don't need to to reblue the barrel - clean it up, de-grease it with some acetone and use Oxphoblue from Brownells.
If you need to re-do the action use some of the spray finishes (I hate to admit it but I've found barbecue black Derusto to do a fabulous job on wood or aluminum).

P.S. Yes, you remove the pin and drive the reciever off, but you'll NEVER get the original factory fit - the bbl, has splines on it.

i used aluminum wheel paint on my model 60 reciever, as well as an oven to preheat/cure it. Came out nicely except where the reciever fell over in the oven :)
