i just wanted everyone to know that i went up to the topeka gun show today and it was absolutly horrible, but i thought no problem I will go to dick's sporting goods and pick up some ammo for the xd. Well they are selling 225 rds of ultramax .40 for $24.98 which comes out to be about $8 cheaper than buying the same amout from wal-mart. And I would have bought everyone they had but they were out and since it is a 45 min drive there is no need for me to get a rain check. oh well maybe next time!

If you can afford $299 for 1000 rounds (thats $19 a box) and he has free shiping on most sales.
He has a large selection of 40sw and I will say here that I have bought a lot of ammo from him 9mm and 223 and 30-06 and he has always treated me very well. Well enough that I have trusted him with my credcard number.
Personaly in my town if Dicks sporting goods was giving away ammo I wouldnt show up, there prices are crazy

I live near Binghamton NY, actually where Dick's was started.
I have walked out of Dick's a few times when they have asked to see my pistol permit before letting me buy pitol ammo. The clerk claimed it was the law and I told him it may be their policy but it isn't the law. No one else does it.

In kansas we don't have permits! :D They might have wanted my birth certificate and my moms maiden name :p

I thought Dick's was from Seattle? Seeing that 9mm deal makes me want to go out and get one.

I just went and bought some 9mm rounds from Dicks the other day for $4.98 a box and there was nothing asked for other then money to pay.

It might be remanufactured but so is black hills in the blue box, and that is some of the most accurate and all around best ammo i shoot in both the ar-15 and the m1a.

Ultramax. Holy cow is that stuff nasty. Lead bullets, and some seriously SMOKY powder. I bought a box of these at Dicks last year and had to stop shooting after two mags because the smoke was so thick. It was gagging the guys next to me. Probably the most inaccurate ammo I've ever used.

Seriously, I'm not exaggerating things here.
