View Full Version : What is a good XD9 holster??

September 15, 2005, 07:14 PM
Wanted to see what kind of holster for my XD9 would be good?
Plan to get one I can use for CCL and one I could use on the range?
Any suggestions and what are the going rates in either leather or composite?

Which do you prefer and why?

I just called in a Holster from Sportsman Guide today. They have alot of holsters, and the price is right,on most.
I looked all over for a scoped holster for my gun.
Check them out.I have ordered other stuff from them before.
Have fun and keep shooting.

Do they have good prices at Cabellas on ammo?

You're better off by going to Walmart for ammo. I was just at Cabela's in West Virgina, I didn't really see any good deals on ammo, but they do have a nice selection of Personal Defense rounds. Dicks Sporting goods has UMC 9mm for $4.98 per 50.

The best Kydex holster in my honest opinion..

I have a Sidearmor IWB and a modular OWB for my G17. In the IWB, my full sized Glock comfortably disappears under a t-shirt. The OWB takes a loose button down, but it's an AWESOME range holster.

They are good people, too.

Ross leather belt holster for outside the waistband, shirt untucked look. $30 at Sportsmans warehouse.

Galco skyops holser for IWB shirt tucked in look online for around $60.

Both work great. Good luck

Most makers make what you want...just keep an eye out for a style that will suit you specific needs and go from there.
Shoot well.

I picked up a Mil-Tech Compak holster from my local gun shop. It's a nylon type of thing, can be IWB or OWB, used on left or right side. It comes w/ a belt clip, and also can slide onto your belt. It even has an extra mag pouch on the front. It's technically for a Glock 26/27 (I think), but it fits my XD-9 subbie perfectly. For $18, I didn't think I could go wrong. I practice with it at home, and it's quite comfortable, and allows for a fast draw.

I don't know who else carries that brand, but Uncle Mike's has very similar holsters here: http://www.unclemikes.com/adtemplate.asp?invky=9005374&catky=3407251&subcatky1=4548802&subcatky2=2000334
