View Full Version : Magazines (reading material) suggestions

I'm starting to look into purchasing a semi-auto for fun at the range and maybe some IDPA later on. I'd like to subscribe to a couple of magazines which will provide reviews and good general info. Which ones do you suggest? Which ones should I avoid?

I receive and enjoy Guns-&-Ammo,American Rifleman (NRA mag),and Guns magazine. Some people will whine at their glowing reports of most guns but I wouldn't expect them to say that everything they shoot sucks.

I rather like American Rifleman, Guns, and American Handgunner. Guns & Ammo, Gunworld, and Shooting Times are OK as well but just don't have as much of what interests me (mainly older and military stuff) as the others do.

Try "Gun Tests" magazine. No advertisements therefore "no favorites". They shoot them right out of the box and give an informative opinion. John
