I have a Ruger mark iii and found a set of grips for the mark ii that i really want. Willl these fit without modification. I recently bought a set for the mark i and attempted carving slots for the bolt release and othe notches. The wood was too thin on one corner, so therefore I had to cut all the way through. On the original grips, the part of the grip on the corner covered up a pin that the trigger pivoted on and since the modified grip did not cover it up, it almost jarred its way out while I was shooting.

Will Ruger Mark II grips fit on a Mark III without modification of carving?

Thanks for resonses

I'm pretty sure that all you will need to do is to cut out a round notch for the mag release, and perhaps a relief on the other side if the mag release latch pushes out on the other side.

Use a dremel with saw head, or rotary rasp.
Finish hole with rat tail file or sand paper rolled on a dowel.
