I have a chance to purchase a Kimber Super Match (lightly used - almost new seies I) for $1100 or a NIB Kimber Gold Match II for $800

How MUCH difference will a novice really feel between these 2 models to justify the $300 difference, or is the Gold Match II not going to prove itself just as good for a "newbie" non-competitive shooter like myself ?

Thanks so much for ANY response left me, to help make my decision.

A newbie non-competetive shooter would do just as well with just a basic Custom model. Only after you have fully mastered the basics will the potential accuracy of the pistols start to show for you. So get the one that gives you the warm and fuzzy sensation.

Accuracy differences are negligible. But what's much more important is that on general principle, the Series 1 Kimber is considerably more desireable and will continue to be so as compared to any Series II Kimber. Some some people seem to be content with theirs, personally, I wouldn't touch a Series II Kimber with a ten foot pole. Just one guy's opinion.
