Anyoe know where I might find one of these do-hickeys? Brownells sells 'em for aroung $50. High dollar for a 1X use.

Thanks GF. I really don't want to put you to all that trouble. Willing to buy one; just don't need the latest, wiz-bang, do it all while you sleep version.

CDNN has them for $1.99------of course you'll need to buy some other stuff to justify the $10 shipping charge.

I bought the one from RRA. It was $6 plus $6 shipping, IIRC.

Same here!
I just got the basic Rock River M4 Carbine Stock Wrench from Brownell's yesterday, and it's a very nice, and very hefty tool for this purpose. CLICK HERE (http://www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/store/ProductDetail.aspx?p=16882)
Part # 739-000-010 - $8.00 Retail, $5.33 Wholesale + shipping.
Highly recommended!
Hope this helps. ;)

Dakotan-
I saw that on Brownells. However, it doesn't specify the collapsible stock and is slightly different than the others.

Are you certain it fits the typical round nut with dual holes?

Rich,
I used it to install a DPMS 4-Position stock with the A4-style castle nut that has openings for all three lugs on the wrench, but you may be able to get away with using it with the older style castle nut.

The only other one I found that wasn't big $$ was a standard spanner made by ProMag from midway HERE. (http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=218355)

It may easily do the job, but it looks a little on the "el-cheapo" side to me, though.
