I will be hunting in the Pearl R. Wildlife Management Area on Saturday. Any experience to pass on to me?

About the only thing I can think of at this late a date is to try and break a shoulder when you pop one. The heart lies a bit forward of where a deers is located.
Best of luck!

Take enough gun...those buggers are real real tough. If you jump a big one with too small of a caliber, you'll just piss him off and he'll come for you. Been there. They have cartilage "kevlar" plates as they age.

I'm just about sold on behind-the ear shots for all hogs over 100 lbs. Simple shoulder shots for <100 lbs seems to roll them. Avoid longer shots in which they have cover nearby; they will run into it, dig in, and sometimes turn around and wait for you to come in, too...
Oops! It's Saturday-- you're already there... Good luck!

Will you, too, be one who stands in the gap?
