Im looking at getting an ar and i love the look of the m4 collapsing stock. However it feels teriibly uncomfortable to shoot. How hard is it to switch between the standard and the collapsing m4 stock?

I think, once assembled, it is just a matter of screwing one off and the other on, but I don't know how easy that will be just to switch them at one's whime. I have never actually done this, but I do know how it is done.

They are not difficult to swap out (take about 10-15 min), but I would probably urge against swapping it on a regular basis. I personally feel that over time as you swap them back and forth you will degrade the threads on the lower and it will accelerate wear. Better to spend another $150-200 for a second lower and just swap the upper between them.

Another alternative is to get a MagPull stock, instead of the M4 stock. This gives you the a collapsible that is as steady as a fixed, and has much better cheek-weld than the M4 stock. Got one on my franken car, and love it.
