Anybody have a good hand load for a mini 14 ranch rifle? :)

I feed my regular (non Ranch) Mini the following:

Surplus (IMI manufacture) 55 gr. FMJ bullets
Surplus military cases (mixed lot)
WW-commercial small rifle primers
26.5 gr H335 propellant

This round will group into 3-4 inches at 100 yards on my Mini with iron sights, and is "minute of paper plate" at 200 yards consistently.

That sound like some good shooting JY!! Did you do any mods to your gun? Is that with iron sights or do you use a scope or Red dot system. I used to watch the A-team, with Mr.T and George Peppard, and the others, I also thought they were shooting m-14's until when I was old enough to go to the gun store and saw a mini-14. My wife works for the MI department of corrections. They use the Mini-14 with a 30 rd Mag when they need a carbine with good firepower and controllability. I always wanted to go to the range when they qualified every year so I could try and shoot it.

I have 3 Mini's and had ZERO modifications with them. Its all in the handloads. IMHO The Mini 14 that I shoot the most has over 16,000rds threw it and has a Sighton 3-9x40 scope.

The Mini barrel does cause the groups to spread out after it heats up but the trajectory of the .223 still beats my Russian rifles. I belong to a gun club with a 500yd rifle range and all of my Mini's are capable of 8-12inch groups at 500yds. Some people claim they get groups like that at 100yds but i've never seen them that bad. The worst groups I've gotten were about 5inch groups with 55gr surplus ammo.
