My friend is looking for a home defense auto load shotgun.

Is there any others besides the Benelli?

Thanks!

Lots of them, starting off with the Remingtons, both 1100 and 11-87. That 11-87P seems to be a very good "Serious" shotgun...

Any functional one will do just fine.
Tis the user skill that is by far the most important.

Thanks all!

I will recommend the Remington 11-87P to my friend.

I just broke in my 700P .308 (http://urbansniper.150m.com/armory/) and I am very impressed with Remington le.

Besides any Benelli, or besides the M3?

Benelli also makes the M1 and Nova (pump) for house duty...

yep. I have a Mossberg C500 20ga pump, great little gun. I also like my old Stevens S x S 16 with the 16 inch barrels. Comforting.

my various Remingtons are good for defense, as is my Mossberg 590. The Browning A-5 Mag 12 is no slouch either.

Guess there are a lot of shotguns that qualify.

I am currently looking into a Franchi Lawman 12 (sister gun to the SPAS 12) which is a semi-auto home defender.
