Cylinder face cleaning

How do members remove the carbon build up on the front of cylinder?

Lead-away cloth on my stainless guns and a brass brush and some shooters choice solvent on my blued guns.
Lead-away cloths will remove the blueing of the gun, but I have used it in the past on the cylinder face of my blued guns but was extremly careful and it cleaned up.
