I recently came into possession of a Browning BAR in .270 Win, made in belgium, probably in the late 70s. Can anyone tell me what to expect as far as reliability, accuracy (barrel appears in excellent shape), and any reloading tips like the use or not of a small base resizing die? [email protected]

Best I can tell you is that my Grandfather has a BAR in .300 mag. He wont hunt with anything else, and belive me...he has else!

You could not buy a better rifle for the money! I have a BAR MkIII safari Grade W/Boss in 270 Win. And it shoots 3/4" groups with factory ammo! I recomend Small-Base Dies for any Semi-Auto. Expect extreme reliability and it is over built and understressed! After all how many civilian actions hold up to 300 WinMag! Good Luck and happy shooting!

The BARs are excellent guns. I have an old one in .308, and a newer one in 375/338. Both are fine guns. GLV
