I'm interested in getting a Milt Sparks Cold Comfort cheekpiece which holds seven shot shells and laces on the buttstock. I plan on putting it on an Ithaca Model 37 DSPS with a reproduction WWII leather sling.
Does anyone own or handled this item, and is it handy for carrying shells (easy to extract the rounds) and worth buying? Input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Others like them a lot, but I find the buttcuff ammo holders get in the way a bit.Try it out, and make your decision.

I've owned one since attending the shotgun course at Gunsight in 1982. It stayed on my duty gun until I retired. The only down side I found to it is that the first (forward most) shell hits my wrist in recoil. I usually only carry 6 rounds in the Cold Comfort.

Have always been happy with Sparks products.
