any other blackpowder shop, a blackpowder meet (rendezvous). It's best to buy these things in person as this permits you to inspect and select one with straight grain. You should soak it for about a year (PVC tube) to ensure it remains flexible and won't break off in your hand or in the barrel. I forgot what it's soaked in but will find out for you.

This June, the Mother of all Matches, the Nationals will be held at Friendship, Indiana. That's the place to go if you want black powder gun parts. It's fun too!

A ram rod can be soaked in Kerosene or Lamp Oil to improve its flexibility and reduce the possibility it will break.

Remember to buy 2 or 3 of them to account for breakage or other damage over the years. Nothing worse than not being able to shoot due to no ram rod. Having a "range rod" to use when at the range and home cleaning is a good idea to. The vendors mentioned will set-up up with a range rod complete with muzzle protector.
