Nylon 66

Did Remington ever produce a Nylon 66 with a parkerized finish? I was considering taking one on trade but was wary that it had been refinished.

The receiver cover has something like a matte, parkerized finish. It is factory.

This one had a heavy parked looking finish on the receiver and the barrel. The stock was the Seneca Green and looked almost new. Also, instead of loading through the stock it had a 10 round magazine. I passed on it, because I just wasn't sure.

That's a Nylon 77, much less common than the 66 and the Seneca Green much less common than the Mohawk Brown (all models), might be worth it just for the original stock. Check the grip cap, does it say "Apache 77", then it was a K-Mart special (really, made for K-Mart!) and less than common, only 54,000 made. Remington made over a million Nylon 66's.

I love the internet.
