need help from some body with load book
I am looking to make a subsonic load for a 45/70 using jacketed bullets. (.458 caliber)
the bullets I am planning on using are Hornady 500 grain interlock bullets, they come in at 1.38 inches long. The Brass is Winchester and holds 80.3 grains of water. The total over all length of a loaded bullet is 2.55 inches I am looking for some thing at 950-1000 FPS. The Barrel is 18.5 inches long (Marlin 1895 GG) I am looking for the fastest powder possible that will still preform satisfactory. I have tried Trailboss and it is not able to get the speeds I need (Tops out about 750 FPS) I can provide other information as needed

Try 4198.
28 grns equal the velocity of the army's BP 45-70 load of about 1200 fps. You could probably get it below 1100 fairly easily.
