Have you slugged your barrel yet?
I couldn't tell you the mold number off the top of my head (getting too many molds to remember them all), but for my 32 Win Sp I'm using a 175gr Lyman plain base mold for a 32-40 that dropped a .319 before I polished it out to drop a .321. With 7gr. of Red Dot, my old .32 loves that bullet like a woman loves chocolate.

Hope that wasn't a sexist suppository remark. I'm looking at the rcbs 175 .321 gas check and maybe a lovern style plain base. what does your red dot load scoot the bullet at? 7 grs. sounds like a good economical load.

Thanks, guys! I'd almost forgotten the 94 in .32 Win Spl growing older in a used gun rack near here. Thanks a lot!

Go for it, the Cabela's in Cowtown had several shooters from a private collection. One even had receiver sights. If I cruise through there in a haggling mood this weekend I may take a hard look @ it. It's an intriguing caliber in a great gun, just not in a buying mood these days.

Gun was gone, Salvadore. Hope you got it. Found a new Marlin 336C in 35 Rem on the used gun rack for a good price, probably get more use out of it anyway.

Now that's funny tex, I just finished posting about your 30-30 when I noted a new post on the 32 spec. Nope wasn't me, but I got one coming next week. Was the 35 remington one of those new fangled rimless cartridges?

Yep, shares a birthday with the .30-06. Pretty modern by my standards. Reckon It'll catch on?

32 Win Spl is one of my all time favorite cartridges, preferred over the 30-30. The RCBS bullet is a good'un.

Which Williams sight? I have one of their receiver sights on a 94 but may go with a tang sight next time. I think they make one. I have two of their products and like both very well.
Have any bullets cast yet?

i am gonna use it to punch holes in paper and maybe an occasional jack rabbit. I want to shoot it around 1500 to 1800fps, and depending on the bore size of my mauser I hope to use the same Lee bullet in both rifles.
Tex, brownells calls it the foolproof tk, looks like the sight is adjusted with target knobs, hence the tk. Anyway I have a lyman 66 on my marlin 39A and last week I was keeping my groups under an inch at 50...Pretty good for a guy who can't see. |
