Back From The Nationals

Just got back from the big shoot at Friendship Indiana. Wife won the womens
pistol championship for the 6th time. Daughter Halie got second in the Jr's
pistol championship. She tells me she will get 1st next year. I believe her. She
had to shoot 40 shots Tuesday. She is 12. Here's Mom & Daughter.

A big "congratulations" to the ladies for a job well done! You must be very proud of them and justly so. It's heartwarming to see young people get involved with BP shooting and learn about something they'll enjoy for a lifetime. Obviously your daughter is very good in her shooting ability . . . somehow, I think that "Mom and Dad" have a lot to do with that! I didn't make it down to Friendship . . . . again. Just too many things going on and obligations to take care of at the last minute. I hope you had decent weather and didn't "melt". Hope your feeling better and thanks for sharing with us!

I went this year for the first time. Hot, rainy, humid, had a ball. I worked as an RO on Birdy's pistol line on Tuesday and saw you and the family shooting. Didn't have a chance to introduce myself but perhaps next year.

I did not intend to do any competitive shooting this year, but I did take a couple rifles and a pistol, and did get a chance to fire a few practice rounds. Everyone, and I mean everyone, were most friendly and helpful throughout the five days I was there. There are some incredibly good shooters at Friendship, a humbling experience to be sure, but perhaps the best experience was working as an RO. Everyone I had to interact with over a rules issue was polite and understanding - no hassles or attitudes. I only saw two incidents where people got upset with an RO and in both cases they (the shooter) were clearly in violation and had no excuse for their attitude except embarrassment.

Awesome guns. Great people. Lousy weather. Great fun.

Congratulations to your wife and daughter! Sorry to hear that you were out of sorts, but it must have been fun to watch your family do so well.

"One of these days" my wife and I will go.

Wished you would have interduced yourself. Yes everybody is very nice there. We have been going 18 years now. Wife started out with the daughter
and then I took over. Birdy and Mike are real good friends of ours. Birdy &
our daughter Halie are real good friends. I took lots of pictures and also the
group pictures. I have known Birdy & Mike for 40 years. We stay in Madison
at a motel. Boy was it hot. They told me that it was not normal. What did
you think of Kim's 97 at 50 yds? unreal. I remember seeing you, just didn't
know you. Had a real good dinner there Thursday night. Everybody should
go there at least once. You can shoot shotgun, pistol, offhand rifle, light
bench, heavy bench, slug, sporting clays. Something I'm leaving out I know.
All Black Powder. And everything runs like clockwork. I used to shoot cross
sticks, but can't get up & down anymore. You all make plans you hear?
Come to Friendship. They call it that for a reason.
