Huntin experts...How big is this hog???

How much do you guys think this hog weighs??? The bigger one on the right...

With little to compare to, I am gonna guess he is close to the tripod stand and use the little hog in the pic to compare although they can be quite a ways different distance from the camera...
High end... 150-200 possibly 225...
If you get him in other pics later, please show us...

Doesn't look real heavy through the shoulders and neck, and the legs look long which would tend to indicate a youngish hog. My guess is about 150-175, it's tough to tell from the pic.

I'm not sure the math I used is completely correct but it's close........

If you take the weight of that hog as X and then subtract 3/5X to represent the head, guts & skin you come up with 2/5X. To that you add 1/12 Y to represent rub, sauce and smoke. You then adjust the equasion for time and heat factors, say 8 hours @ 200-250 degrees, and then devide that sum by 40 people.

Using this simple math I come up with ZERO for the weight of that hog....................

Compared to the full grown adult hog on the left, it looks pretty huge. I'd say 16 hrs. on the spit, and invite 60 people.

Looking close I see a, possibly, cropped tail and a large male would have a sack o' bits protruding "aft" so I am leaning towards it being an escapee from a farm or more likely an intentionally released "barr", short for barrow hog.

If my 19 year old son "Junior" is also invited along with bswiv's BIL... Subtract 30 folks...
Junior ate this bugger himself and it was at least 10 pounds of meat...

Hog on the left is a long way from being full grown. The one on the far right is more close to being the size of a normal adult.

The hog on the right is a good trim hog, flat belly and not carrying much backfat. He is about the size of a normal show pig...about 200 pounds.

I would say a lean 70-80 kg.

Compared to the hogs I have in the pen, I would say around 150 -175, and that would be on the high side.
I do not think the tail is cropped, because I have one of these cameras and it does not take very fine detail. I think the tail is just in a position that it can not be seen in the photo. But you could be right...
It definitely does look like a barrow, but again, it could be a cold night and the camera angle is not showing the goods.
