Turn a K98 8mm into a 22lr. How...
...difficult would it be to convert? If it could be done what would it require? I only ask because I have an RC that's bore is shot out. The throat is worn and the muzzle has been counterbored. I've tried varios bullets and even cast loads and can get nothing but large patterns at best.

It would be extremely difficult to turn a K98 into a 22LR rifle. It could be done, but it would be a single-shot rifle. Consider having it rebarreled, rebored to a larger caliber, or lined. Call then send it to Taylor Machine (link at the bottom) for a rebarrel or rebore or a liner.
