The barrel size of a .36

I was wondering what the barrel size is on the .36 and what is the largest chamber diameter I can use without shaving lead. I am trying to find out if it is possible to convert the .36 to .41 colt, but the thing is that it fires a .386 lead and I think the barrel can only manage a .375. Now I don't know if opening the forcing cone on the barrel would create too much chamber pressure for being .011 bigger

That's a lot of shaved lead there my friend & I don't think it'll work well.

Both Kirst and R&D make a conversion cylinder that will chamber a .38 Long Colt.

You don't want to go to a .41. Go with a .38 spcl. and load your own with soft lead heeled bullets or hollow based bullets.

Sure, no problem as long as you open and lengthen the forcing cone all the way to the muzzle.

I think even for 38 long colt you have to use a barrel sleeve. Meh, I think I'll just stick with 45s.

Nah, just use soft lead heel type which has the outside dimensions of the case or hollow base which will expand to fit on firing.
