Winchester 1200?
I received a 1200 as part of a trade and I am presently working on refinishing the stocks. The gun has a 20 inch barrel for home defense with a cylinder bore. I realize the 1200 was replaced by the 1300 and many parts interchange, but is there anything inherently WRONG with the 1200? Would it serve as an adequate home defense gun?

I own a 1300 and it is a great gun. It has a smooth, short stroke and has never given me any problems. If you shoot it well it should be great for HD.

I have my son's 20 gauge youth model from when he was 12, that being about 22 years ago and it works just as good as when it was brand new.
So I'd say a 1200 is a decent shotgun. * Furgot, my brother has a 12 (defender model) from back about the same time, same a my 20, still works great. |
