Neat film. I've seen National Geographic articles about the arms makers, but that was maybe 30 years back. Good to see they're still at it.

One thing for sure: They're not interested on a Second Amendment on paper, with trust in others. They carry their own trust with them.

I don't need the film to know what's with these guys. They are in a class of their own. Kinda taking the gun culture to the extreme. Bullets falling and hitting people in the head and whatnot. Building machine guns, pretty cool. Homegrown machinist.

I've seen another film, wish I could remember the name, where it actually documents the Paki gunsmiths hand-making guns from beginning to finish.

The tribal smiths handforged the parts to make a BHP and a Beretta 92, then they would forge the rollmarks, stampings and proofs marks on the gun. If you didn't know where it came from, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference from a real one-exept when the metal failed perhaps.

Won't play on a Mac. Is that the one where the guy narrating it thinks that a Tokarev is a Mauser and that a Muzzlelite is a rifle instead of a cheap stock for a mini?

Interesting film....it makes me think, Full Auto Ak-47 in the US.....$5000 + $200 tax stamp, Ak-47 in Afghanistan probably around $150 dollars. I didn't like it how the guy said "I am holding pure evil", when he held the pistol in his hand.

Is it just me or did that first 9mm pistol look like a CZ?

This is not the film of the biggest gun market. In fact the bigger market exists in Dera Adam Khail which on the opposite side of this Kyber Pass which is shown first, then movie splits to Dera. Plus the music is not from locals or Pakistan. Its Indian so its all mis-matched and cut paste put together stuff.

Next I go there I will put up a better film of area with real heavy guns being fired.

Ok. The next time I go there, I will put up a film of lots of guns being fired. And if possible, cant promise, some rocket launchers and anti-air craft as well. It all depends on when I go there and who I take with me.

Great film. All true.

I've been through the Khyber pass many times, spent a alot of time in Darra, and Landi Kotal NWFP during the war in Afghanistan with Russia. This area was the trans shipment point for Saudi Arabian paid for and American delivery of supplies for the mujahadin (when they were our good guys).

Besides that junk they make there, a lot of stinger missiles and other high tech ordinance went through that area.

This is the ultimate gun culture. As far as bullets falling on your head, they have an expression there (and here in the UAE and the whole muslim woorld) "in sha-allah" if God wills it, (you'll get hit with a falling bullet, so don't sweat it).
