Winchester Rifle
Hi,
First things first, I know nothing about guns. I just know I have my Dad's rifle. It is a Winchester. It says on it Winchester-Model-94-30-30 WIN and underneath this Model # it says Winchester proof steel. The only other markings on it are located about 2-3 inches in front of the trigger (?) and say 2096477. I was wondering if anybody can tell me what they think it is worth or what other information I need to find out. Thanks. Last edited by krs2425; March 26, 2006 at 10:21 PM. Reason: spelling |

The Winchester Model 94 .30-30 is one of the most common rifles around, over five million made. It is a good short to medium range deer hunting rifle. Your Dad's was made in 1955 and would be more desirable to a collector than one made after 1964 because Winchester remodelled their rifles that year to cut manufacturing costs. The Winchester factory is closing and there will be no more built, which adds to the value of existing Winchesters.

It has been a number of years but I am back
My father has recently passed away and I want to keep this gun, sans no bullets. I have no interest in firing it. It just reminds me of my father. Memories. My question is how do I make sure it has no bullets in it?
