recoil spring for Star Model 30M, caliber 9mm Para

Just installed my only spare recoil spring. The original spring had shortened approximately 3 coils since purchase, about 5 years and several thousand rounds.

Having spoken with the people at Wolff, who do not make a recoil spring for the Star Model 30, they did come up with one rated at 9#, a reduced power spring, that they make for the Beretta 92F/SB, 9mm and the 96 in .40 S&W.

The spring they recommended measures re wire diameter, free length, coils/inch, o.d. of spring, i.d. of spring coil and number of coils, about the same as the replacement that I had. What I'm wondering about is the following. Does anyone know what the rating of the original factory recoil spring was or is.

Star is no longer in business, which obviates asking them.
