Removing cylinder from taurus tracker

I'd like to remove the cylinder on my wife's tracker for easier cleaning/soaking. But I'm not totally sure how it comes off, I don't have too much wheelgun experience. The last one I remember removing was on a really old S&W .455 Webley and all I had to do was unthread the extractor.

I've heard some guns, the easiest thing to do is remove the crane.

Any hints?

It is fairly easy if you have some very good screwdrivers. You do not want to bugger up the screwhad. just remove the screw on the side plate in front of the trigget guard and then opne the cylinder and the cylinder and crane should slide out of the front.

If you do this i recommend that you then pull the crane out of the front of the cylinder. When you put it all back together a small spot of white lithium grease on the cylinder bearing of the crane does wonders for the rotation of the cylinder. I did this and when I put 2 rounds in the cylinder it rotates so they are at the bottom.

It doesn't have a screw in front of the trigger guard. I looked cause I found somebody else mentioning that for another Taurus (or perhaps an older tracker?).

OTOH: There is a screw that's just in front of the pivot point for the trigger, (I haven't had the side plate off yet).. so perhaps it's just the screw location that changed.

Might just give that a shot.

Be prepared to find (or lose) a small spring that lurks under the screw.

That's just the kinda thing I was a bit worried about. The manual that comes with these doesn't have the proper diagram for the Tracker, although I suspect some are close..the quality of the diagrams leaves a lot to be desired.
