Long Range Shooting
I am not a hunter, so this rifle will be for casual range shooting, but I want to be able to hit a target at 1,000 yards again.
I think I have decided on one of these three cartridges: 6mm Norma Bench Rest 6mm Dasher (though I have to fire form cases from 6mm BR) 6.5X284 Was thinking about a Model 12 Savage Bench Rest in 6.5x284, though have been told that the round is a barrel eater and also that the trigger on the Savage is not that great and there is no really good replacement. So I am now considering either a rifle built by Precision Tooling or Hammonds. 30 Inch Barrel, Bench Rest Laminated Stock etc. Bob |
