Michigan deer hunter time... Gramps had a model 94 winny in .30-30 and granny had a springfield (i think) in .30-06... when the 2 of them went out hunting she had her 'sporterized... ie: cool lookin' wood... -06 and gramps had a fully accesorized winchester.. they both did good but her drinkin' was to hang with hubby so he was always a good bit more soused than her so she may have had more kills per day in the woods! When it came to us kids (grand kids) he took granny's rifle and we got the lever gun... in a weird way we knew it was better him than us accidently sending a lethal projectile a couple miles away...
WAY before laser sights i asked granny what gun was her first choice out of the unlockable gun case... 16,12 or what gauge... She said 10 inches or 100 yards on out to way more she wanted her "deer rifle" and son... I hate to imagine the target on the booming end... She was a crack shot! She could hurl a bullet on out yonder as easy as lay a grub 12.5 feet from the boat right in THAT HOLE and drag a bass or "DEEP WATER ROACH" (BIGAZZ BLUE GILL WITH A PURPLE BELLY) never caught a roach in less than 30-50 feet deep COLD water on the lake...
