ok, im going into the Coast Guard in a few months and Im going for a station somewhere in either the North East or North West(Somewhere with bigger game than Florida). I currently have a Remington 710 30-06(imho a bit overkill for the little dear here in florida, but ive never had a hog wlk away from it) and im looking into a new rifle purchase before i get shipped. im thinking either a 7mm or a 25-06, would either of these be suffucient for where i wanna go or should i just stick with 30-06? not positive on what ill be hunting in either place, but im looking for something that wouldnt be too much overkill in general(and accuracy realy isnt an issue, i can get 1.5in groups at 300 yards)

any info or advice is greatly appreciated
