A chum of mine has one of the Traditions (Armi San Marcos) replicas of the Colt 1851 Navy centerfire conversions. Alas, the trigger was not properly hardened, and the hammer began to displace and shave metal from the trigger. My chum ordered a Colt 1851 Navy trigger from Gun Parts Corp.; however, this does not fit properly. The trigger is far too short through the trigger guard, and the engagement surface is too long to engage the hammer's full-cock notch. Since the new trigger is case-hardened, shortening the trigger is not really an viable option.

Any ideas? Traditions no longer appears to be handling the Armi San Marcos replicas.
