when people accurize their actions, what exactly is involved. For example on Robar's website they say

"Remington 700 BDL, completely accurized, machined, ground and lapped. Includes hex head action screws"

What is this stuff?

Basically they "blue print" the rifle. For instance: the front of the receiver is suposed to be absolutely flat, and at 90 degrees to the threads in the receiver. Often they aren't, so the 'smith corrects theses manufacturing defects. Among other things they:

Make the threads uniform.
Align the front of the receiver to 90 degrees.
Align the bolt face to 90.
Insure the locking lugs on the bolt and receiver are mated.

In other words, they insure the rifle actually matchs the blue print specifications, and correct anything that doesn't. The idea is that everything on the rifle is aligned with the bore of the barrel.
