First off they are mags not clips. Clips go in Garands and such - magazines fully encompass the cartridges as in the HK USC and most modern semi-autos.

As for the USC, it was designed to be politically correct and will only accept 10 round magazines. That's also why its grey and not black because black is eeeevillll...

if you could buy a preban 45 magazine from another platform
& modify it to function in the USC
AND
still function in the original weapon

then you would have something

True - if someone could pull that off, I'd buy a USC in a heartbeat. Its the closest thing to a subgun NJ will ever see, but the 10 round thing just pisses me off too much to consider.

Someone out there is working the issue as we speak. I don't recal who it is but there is a conversion for the KH SL8 that allows it to use AR mags, the same folks are working on the USC as well. Give it time, we shall see. Until then get rid of those sorry politicians and elect a few strict constitutionalist, might help to solve the problem for all of us.

The SL8 has a removeable magazine well
the USC's well is part of the lower receiver

DZ, the conversion I saw pictures of involved cuting the frame some, apparently the USC conversion would do the same so I don't think the existing mag well would be an issue but I could be wrong.

I believe this is the company you are referring to:

They scare me. I've heard nothing but horrible things about their service and their owner Todd.

Good Luck

I'm looking at replacing all the H&K lower(as well as the butt) with USA made parts, this will cover any BATF problems...in effect, it will become a USA made gun. The upper reciever on the USC is where the S/N's are, so a new lower would be a "Mail Order" friendly part...." Cav Arms "Cost is still up in the air...shooting between $200-$500....I want to put it out as cheap as possible, but it's all dependent on how much we end up sinking into the project." - Cavalry Arms
It will use 30 round Grease Gun mags that are still functional in the Grease Gun.

Here is a pic of MY USC.
The black color is NOT paint.. the color is actually impressed INTO the plastic and will not scratch off.
If you are interested, i have more pics and info located at:

Now that you mention it I think it was Special Weapons. Hadn't heard any complaints but, not being A fan of HK I may not have been paying attention.
