View Full Version : Make up my mind for me!

My Mom has put me in an interesting dilema. The good news is that she said she would get me a gun for Christmas:) . The bad news is that she said it must be real close to $200:confused: . So under the circumstances, and thanks in large part to TFL, I have pretty much narrowed it down to 2 contenders. Kel Tec P11 or Ruger P8GC (eight inch slab side 22/45). The Ruger is $230 locally and the P11 is about the same. Common sense tells me to go with the Ruger, but my heart says P11. I know the Ruger would get used more, but a CCW it ain't. Can't make up my mind so I thought I'd ask the experts. If I missed an obvious candidate in this price range, I would love to hear it. Also, if anyone in the OKC are knows of better prices, you'd be my hero for a day if you let me know.

CZ83CZ83CZ83CZ83CZ83.....How about a CZ83 in .380

Or pitch in around 100$ of your own money and get a CZ75b 9mm

pitch in around 150 federal reserve notes and get yourself a CZ-75 B.

Nuff said. It could very well be the best bang for the buck out there.

I'd take the Ruger. I've always wanted one.

As far as prices, the best prices in the OKC area are at Outdoor America. Located South of 23rd street on MacAurther. They have excellent prices, but stock is running low right now after the mad rush fo guns due to the 9/11 crap. Also, they have gun shws a couple of times each month at the fair grounds, you might check there.
And I agree with the other guys, kick in some more of your own money, and get what you really want.

Yes Nifer Outdoor America is my absolute favorite. http://www.outdooramericastore.com/ for those of you who are curious. The only thing I don't like is having to fight for parking most of the time. Also, they don't deal with KelTec for quality reasons(that should probably tell me something, huh?). And I beleive that this particular Ruger is only available through Davidson's retailers. As far as pitching in for something I really want, well I am laid-off so that is pretty much out of the question. Besides, I do actually want both of these pistols. The Makarov, well maybe I haven't looked hard enough but I haven't found any for under $200. I'm sure they are everything that everyone says about them, but they just don't DO anything for me(that makes any sense). The Arcus is VERY intersting and sooner or later I must get one or two, but good ole Mom doesn't want to mess with finding an FFL and having it shipped and all. I'm ever so slightly leaning towards the Ruger, but I very much appreciate all sugestions.

Thanks much

Everyone needs a 22 pistol. If you don't have one yet then get the Ruger. Watch-Six

I agree with the majority here, find a Makarov ($125) and case of ammo. Great little guns! You won't be disappointed!
Also excellent CCDW piece!
