Thought you'll might be interested in these pics. I shot a 'wet-pack' at 15 yds. with Barnaul 9x18 JHP(s) out of my Bulgarian Mak. All rounds expanded. All of the jackets WERE intact after recovery, but easily came off with little handling.

More pics. to follow........

Okay, this is kind of off the main subject, but what the heck.:D

The top two bullets are CCI Stingers (.22LR) The bottom one (un-expanded) is a Remington .22LR High Velocity 'Golden Bullet.' These were fired from a Beretta Model 21 'Bobcat' at 10 yds (wet-pack.)

This is a PMC .32 JHP fired from a 4.0 inch barrel at 15 yds (wet-pack.) Jacket separated. I don't think I should mention the gun type..........;)

I agree, great pics!

In my own little testing I've found that the Bernaul JHP's expand a bit more than the Hornady XTP's in my Bulgie Mak. The Bernauls also seem a bit hotter than the Hornady loads.

Good Shooting

Indeed, great results. How much do these cost? My girfriend has a Bulg. Makarov and we currently load it with FMJs due to local lack of variation. Where did you get them?

Thanks...

krept-

I purchased the hornady loads from 'www.cheaperthandirt.com' $9.66 for a box of 25. I got the Barnauls from 'www.ammunitionstore.com' $6.99 for a box of 50. I would recommend getting them from 'www.dansammo.com' if you were to buy in bulk. $60.00 for 500, $115.00 for 1000. Another place for these loads are 'www.ammoman.com' I want to let you know to stay away from the 'Silver Bear' ammo in 9x18, because it doesn't even fit in some people's mags correctly, etc. Hope I could help.

I ordered my Barnaul JHP's from ammoman.com for $65.00 shipped for $500 rds. I like the way the prices include shipping so I know up front how much I'm going to pay. I ordered it on a Friday morning and it arrived at my house on Wednesday afternoon. Not too bad considering ground shipment.

Good Shooting

What's a "wet pack?"

Well soaked newspaper stacked together like a book case... you shoot the front page of the line of paper and typically compair bullet performance and penetration to other loads.
It does nothing to really determine the power of a load, but its a great tool for making compairisons with...
Just like Ballistic Gel that every magazine is so into. Gel is a pain in the butt to prepair... but it looks better for the camera.
Wetpack can give you the same basic results... cheaper, faster, and easier.
