Saw this at the Fulton Armory web page:

This reminds me that I bought my AR15.com LEGP rilfe with my 2000 tax return. he he he. It should ship to my FFL next Monday. Even though it was my money all along, it feels good to buy firearms after cashing a government check.

Ya, I only worked a summer job that year, and as a college student my parents clamed me as a dependant, so I'm getting a big fat 0 from G. W. Bush. It looks like my hiring bonus is going to pay for a Leupold scope though.

Seeker:

Surely you jest. It NEVER was government money. It was your money all along. It is simply giving only a little of it back to you and making you FEEL like you are getting something.

You are not. It is still holding on to much more of your money than it should.

I don't mind paying taxes, but government ought to tax consumption (sales, VAT, whatever), not production (income) nor property.

Skorzeny, you forgot to say, "If I could keep more of my money, I could do more shooting."

Gotta stay on thread, and talk about guns, remember!

A 10/22 was my first firearm. A fine rifle.

I am looking at, admiring, holding, and fondling my new Ruger Bisley 45 LC. I suppose I should have gotten something a little less PC, but it's what I wanted.

Got my check on 7-30, cashed it and bought an HS2000 the same day for $230! Shot it on 7-31 and fell in love!

The wife got the other $300, and I had $70 left over for a Pachmayr slip-on grip and ammo.

I'm putting mine towards another M1 Garand from the CMP.
First one this year was a real beauty...Hope the next one is just as good.
