Quick question. I have some of that linked .223 and tracer ammo tha't popping up. Do I unlink the ammo by pushing forward on the rim or backwards on the bullet? Either way seems to work. But which way is better?

Pushing forward is probably easier.

Then ther's always the fun way - Get a belt fed rifle in 223 Rem and let 'er rip!

Sorry, I couldn't resist. :D

mill spec brass is pretty hard. when we run lo on 16 ammo we take apart saw belts by twisting the round out of the link. no dented brass, some scratches i assume that you dont reload. if you do push the round out forward use needle nose to pull clip away from the rim then just slide it out
