Mine is still new, (only about 900 rds.)
Only malfunction was when my daughter "limp wristed" it.

Love my G23.

I don't have a good story for my Glock 23. My copy of the 23 has a bad habit of breaking extractors. The first breakage, at around 2500 rounds caused the gun to malfunction terribly. The second breakage, about 500 runds later, was a small chip on the lower edge of the claw and it would fail about once in 25 to 50 rounds. But two breakages in around 2500 rounds doesn't inspire me and the gun only performs range duty now. I will say that when the extractors are in one piece the gun functions flawlessly. I have over 500 rounds since the last breakage with zero malfunctions.

I can't believe I have the lead in this so far...with respect to failures at least!

My 23 has approximately 1500 rounds with zero malfunctions to date. Lately it has been protecting the safe though because I have a new 21. You know how it goes...the newest one is always the favorite!

I have less than 500 rounds through my Glock 23. Have had several feed failures (no, they weren't caused by limp wristing). Had similiar failures with my Glock 17 when it was new.

I don't shoot my Glocks very often, because I don't like the trigger feel. You can guess what I'm usually shooting ;)

I guess I have put about 1500 rds thru mine, considering I have competed in IDPA matches with it for the past year and shoot it on other weekends once a month. I have never had any problem with it and get better acuracy than I do with my G17.

Tom,

You may find this interesting personally if you are the correct Tom B.

I have a G32 that I use a G23 bbl. in that I purchased from you about two years ago (serial #CXD770) that has somewhere between 2000 and 2500 rounds thru it w/o a single malfunction of any kind that I can recall.

The real purpose of this post is to compare gunlife of the 40cal vs 9mm. We have all heard about the lifespan of the G19 and G17 going for hundreds of thousands of rds. Can the 40cal in the same frame size compete? My guess is maybe half the lifespan of a 9mm. I am a Glock lover but do not believe this nonsense about Glocks never wearing out, barrels lasting forever, blah blah blah yada yada yada...

Got my 23 two months ago put 600 rounds through it so far... several 100k 9mm glocks still going... you estimate half the life expectency in the .40... I'll let you know in January of 2015 if your right :D

To put it in perspective your going to spend $7000 to $8000 in ammo to shoot 50,000 rounds (best internet prices, bit less for reloads). So whats a $500 Glock every 14 years as compared to 8 grand in ammo even if it does wear out twice as fast as the 9mm.

Only problem is we won't be buying a Glock or any other handgun in 14 years! Trust me on that and keep that G23 oiled real good!

I have over 6000 rounds through my G-23, with no Malfunctions or breakages. I wish I could say the same about the SW-99 I bought and then sold as quickly as I could.
