I am planning to scope a .308 PSS. I would like to buy the best glass for the money. I will admit to being partial to Leupolds, I am specialy interested in the Vari XIII 3.5-10X LR M1 or even the M3 what are your thoughts, experiences with these scope? should I consider any others?

I will mostly shoot from the bench out to 600 yards, but would like to have a well rounded package capable of some field use and some tactical comps.

For that price, get a Leupold LRT.

Get the Leupold 3.5-10x40 LR M1 if you'll be shooting known distances from the bench. The M3 is too coarse of an adjustment for punching paper. You might want to consider a Kahles ZF-95 fixed power 10x42 scope. Really great optics for the price.
