Brief backyard test..SA Champion

Picked up a SA Champion lightweight today. Fit and finish are excellent. I've read where some shooters don't like the radical checkering on the wood grips but I liked 'em. Gave me a real good purchase on the pistol. Went out back and put only two mags full through the pistol but DAMN I'm impressed. Sweet little pistol it is. At $560.00 I thought it was a good deal but after shooting it I think it's a GREAT deal. I've been away from the 1911 design for some time but is there any "graceful" way to re-assemble a Champion? No, graceful way to reassemble it. I push the recoil spring in and wrap my fingers around the link and spring as I slide the slide on the the frame I remove one finger at a time. I usually save up all my cuse words for the week and use them to reassemble the Champ. I am carrying mine right now.
